"I've been playing your songs all night Kobe" - Wendy Shay asserts.
Ghanaian afro pop musician Wendy Shay is in the news again following statements she made on social media.
The afro pop musician who also doubles as an afro beats musician has received a lot of backlash after a tweet she made didn't go down well with several twitter users.
The Ruff Town Records signee sparked the anger of several twitter users who said her tweet was uncalled for and unreasonable.
It can be recollected that the five times NBA Championship winner, Kobe Bryant died alongside his thirteen years old daughter Gianna Bryant and six others in a helicopter crash in the hours of 9:06 am P.S.T on 26th January 2020.
Tributes have been pouring in as the death shook many around the world and condolences sent to Kobes' family.
However, the "C.T.T" hit maker despite all these found a way to joke about the death of the NBA star which people did not find hilarious.
Wendy posted via her twitter page how she can't believe Kobe is dead and how she's been playing his songs all night.
She tweeted, "Still can't believe u gone... I've been playing your songs all night...".
Twitter users quickly jumped on the tweet and lambasted Wendy for joking with a sensitive issue such as a person's death.
Some twitter users called her childish while others said she just wanted to trend. Others also referred Wendy back to the days of Ebony stating that, if not for the death of Ebony, she wouldn't have been who she is today.
Do you think Wendy Shay got it wrong this time? Do you think she just wants to trend? What do you think?
